Terms of use

Last updated 19 October 2026

These terms apply when you use Rentiva on the web or in the Android or iPhone app. By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Rentiva.

What Rentiva does

Rentiva helps landlords keep track of properties, tenants, leases, rent, proofs of payment, prepaid electricity income, maintenance and inspections, and gives tenants a portal for their own rental. Rentiva is a record-keeping and communication tool. It does not collect or hold rent, is not a party to any lease, and does not give legal, tax or financial advice.

Your account

  • Give accurate details and keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Landlords may invite team members and tenants, and are responsible for the access they give.
  • Tell us straight away at rentivaproperty26@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.

Landlords' responsibilities

  • Only add information about tenants that you are allowed to process, and use it lawfully, including under POPIA and the Rental Housing Act.
  • Check figures before relying on them. Rentiva calculates balances and income from the information you and your tenants enter.
  • Keep your own copies of records you are legally required to keep.

Acceptable use

Don't use Rentiva to break the law, harass anyone, upload content you have no right to share, try to access other people's data, or interfere with the service.

Your content

You keep ownership of the information and files you add. You allow us to store and process them only to run Rentiva for you, as described in our privacy policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Rentiva available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" and may sometimes be unavailable or contain errors. We may improve or change features over time and will give notice of significant changes.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Rentiva is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for losses caused by information entered incorrectly, by decisions made using the service, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act that cannot be limited.

Ending your use

You can stop using Rentiva and delete your account at any time. We may suspend accounts that break these terms, after giving notice where reasonable.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
